POSSIBLE PIETT BIOGRAPHY
Written and submitted by Lindsay Smith

Volume 1 of a very brief, very abridged version of the "novel" I am writing on the life of H.M. Piett.

WARNING: This may reveal vital parts of the plot. Read with discretion.

Harold M. Piett was born and raised in Imperial City on Coruscant, and his parents were Imperial Senate members until they were killed by a rebel riot in the streets of Coruscant while Harold watched from his bedroom window when he was fourteen. He was sent to an orphanage under the rule of Lorania Gelon and Falda Krumpen, the former who recognised Harold's intelligence and ecouraged him to succeed, and the latter who did the best she could to hold him down. From then on, Piett vowed to destroy the Rebel Alliance. But he had been enamoured with joining the Navy since he was only three years old, so this incident was not what guided him to join ghe Naval Academy in Imperial City, a on-ground 1st year training camp when he was eighteen, even though he was an excellent student and valedictorian in his last year of school and had even been offered a full scholarship to start in 2nd year classes at the prestigious University Academy of Alderaan. He declined the scholarship, although his two best friends Lar Belks and Kand Witten were accepted to the U. Academy of Alderaan.

In the orphanage in the last four years of his childhood, Piett was not well-liked for the other children felt that he was a pet of Lorania Gelon and tormented him endlessly. A small-sized child, Piett continued to be the butt of their cruel jokes. This helped to shape Piett into the cautious, shy, and trust-no one adult that he became.Once while Lorania was mysteriously away on 'business', Falda Krumpen took Harold, blindfolded, to the farthest outskirts of Imperial City (a good 39 miles from the orphange) and left him there in the middle of a very severe winter when he was sixteen. Two days later, Piett had found his way back to the orphange, much to the horror of Falda. Fortunately, Lorania had returned, and took him back in. However, he had suffered hypothermia and never fully recovered, causing the reflexes of his left hand to function slower than his right.

At the Academy, Harold shared a room with a Maximilian Veers, Robert Needa, and Aystin Tacious. Maximilian, Robert and Harold became good friends; they became good enemies with Aystin. Maximilian soon grew bored with the Navy and went to the Army Academy the following year. He continued to keep in close touch with Piett and Needa. Harold and Robert were both sent to the elite Command School on Calroon 5. Fortunately for them, Aystin Tacious didn't make the cut, but he would plague the three later in their careers.
