PIETT - IN THE BEGINNING

Long before this great Imperial hero became Admiral of the greatest fleet assembled, he served once as an Ensign onboard the Victory-Class Star Destroyer, Wraith…………..

In the void of space a Victory Star Destroyer, Wraith, travels under the warm glow of the main star of the Pruxiv system. The captain of the ship, Captain Forran Daemas was a respected by the crew.

Piett who had just been transferred here, still had to learn much about the workings of a starship like this one. Suddenly, the alarms started to ring. Piett rushed to the bridge passing gunners and TIE fighter pilots. He knew at once that a battle was about to begin.

Reporting to Daemas, the captain ordered him to tell the gunners not at the Rebel frigates, which were attacking the VSD. But Piett knew better, he thought of a plan which could destroy all the Rebel ships and still get away with minimal TIE casualties.

But the captain's orders stayed. Piett then had no choice but to delay the orders and told both gunners and TIE pilots his bold new strategy now called the Piett Stand Off.

Piett rushed to a TIE Interceptor and took the place of the pilot inside. He then took off, leading Avenger Flight with him.

During the battle, Piett intercepted several transmissions from the lead Rebel frigate to the Wraith. Examining them, while shooting down X-Wings of course, he discovered that the captain had intended to throw his lot to the Rebellion. Piett knew his life was in danger, inside and outside the battlefield. So, Piett sent a tight beam trasmission to the next closest fleet, telling them of this traitorous captain.

He then went on to destroy the Rebel frigates with much skill and deadly accuracy. A few minutes later, a huge fleet of Star Destroyers exited hyperspace. The rebels now outnumbered, began to retreat. But the gravity wells on an Interdictor Cruiser with the newly joined fleet prevented this. The rebels were destroyed.

Later onboard the lead Imperial ship which had just arrived, Piett found out that the Lord Vader himself was the commander! Telling him of his captain, Lord Darth Vader, strangled the captain immediately and crushed his dead body. Piett then received a promotion to captain and a ship, the now renamed Victory-Class Star Destroyer, Vigilance, for his bravery and the exposing of a traitor.

Piett was very modest about this victory, but that just gained him more respect from the crew. Even now the Vigilance patrols the space routes for Rebels, scattered after their defeat at Endor at the hands of Grand Admiral Piett!
