Concerning the life of the Emperor

This report has dug deeply in to the past of the Emperor Piett. It will reveal certain surprises, but they are not simply made up. These informations have been carefully gathered to reveal the unknown and mysterious past of our leader.

The Emperor was born Charles Piett on the planet of Coruscant, the heart of the Empire. His parents were Jarred and Delona Piett. His father was a senator in the Old Republic and a friend to Senator Palpatine (Who was later to become the Emperor), thus insuring young Piett a promising future. Growing up, he lived on the upper level of Coruscant, not far from the Senate building and where the future Emperor's palace would be. His father, Jarred, pushed Charles to continue in his footsteps and to go in to politics. He had high hopes for his son and believed that he could one day succeed Palpatine and become President of the Senate. But young Piett had no interests in Politics. Instead, he dreamed of the day that he would be able to travel through the stars.

During President Palpatine's rise to power, Jarred became a close advisor. Palpatine had promised him a governorship in his New Order, which he said would soon rise to power. But Jarred would never be able to live in Palpatine's New Order. While on his way to a special Senate hearing, Jarred was assassinated by protesters outside the Senate building. He died on the way to the hospital, never knowing that Palpatine had declared himself Emperor at that same exact hearing.

Years after Jarred's death, Charles decided to enter the Imperial Academy of Caridia. He was determined to serve Palpatine, now Emperor, as his father did. He graduated top of his class with many honors. Shortly there after, he was assigned to a small patrol squadron in the Outer Rim as a Commander. Here he dealt swiftly with any Rebel resistance and as he served under Governor Tarkin his talents were soon recognized and he was promoted to Captain. The High Command soon got word of Captain Piett's outstanding record and hand picked him for Lord Darth Vader's Death Squadron. Luckily, if he had in fact stayed with Tarkin, he would have most likely died with him on the Death Star during the battle of Yavin and the Empire would have lost it’s greatest strategical genius yet.

Shortly after the Executor was completed, he went aboard as Second Officer but was quickly promoted to Line Captain and First Officer when Admiral Griff, commander of the Death Squadron, died in a freak shuttle accident. Now serving under the command of Admiral Ozzel (former First Officer under Griff), he quickly gained respect from Vader. Ozzel noticed this and quickly began to dislike the captain, fearing that one day he would take his job and because he was envious.

When Vader became obsessed with finding the Rebel jedi Luke Skywalker, he sent thousands of probe droids throughout the galaxy to aid him in his search. The Executor soon received a signal from a probe droid in the Hoth System. Captain Piett used is superior wits to figure out, that it was most likely a hidden Rebel base. Admiral Ozzel doubted the Captain and dismissed it as nothing but a mere smuggler settlement, in a desperate attempt to make the Captain look bad. However Lord Vader immediately understood the Captain’s talents and over ruled Ozzel's judgement and immediately changed course for Hoth System.

As the mighty fleet bore down on the rebel base, Ozzel made a serious flaw, one that would cost him his life. As they exited hyperspace too close to the system, they lost the element of surprise. A mistake the Captain would never make. When Vader was informed of this news by General Veers, commander of the assault on Hoth, he immediately took action and terminated the life of the incompetent Admiral. Having complete faith in Piett, he instantly promoted him to full Grand Admiral.

Taking command of the impending battle, the Admiral used his knowledge and tactical sence and lead the fleet to a victory. Destroying at least a quarter of the escaping rebel craft and completely destroying the Hoth base. Immediately after the glorious Imperial victory, Piett continued to carry out Vader’s orders and began to track the Millenium Falcon, eventually towards an asteroid field.

Knowing the serious threat the asteroids imposed on the mighty ship, which was unable to manouver fast enough to avoid the asteroids and the fact that even the Executor didn’t have enough turrets to blast every asteroid he voiced his objections to following the Falcon any further. Vader, obsessed with finding Skywalker, ordered the ship in and thus Piett had no choice but to follow orders. However, in mid search the Executor received a message from the Emperor and Piett was forced to retreat in order to send a clear transmission.

Hope seemed lost of finding the Falcon anytime soon until luck set in. The Imperial Class Star Destroyer Avenger sent a high priority transmission stating they were in pursuit. However, the Millenium Falcon was able to escape into hyperspace and the Avenger's Captain Needa was thus "dismissed of his command". Immediately, Piett, under orders, alerted all commands and deployed the fleet to find the Millenium Falcon.

Another luck of the draw soon occurred. The incompetent bounty hunter, by the name of Bobba Fett, was lucky enough to spot the Falcon while he was leaving the ship to locate and so he tailed them to a mining planet called Bespin. The entire fleet soon set course for the Anoat system and Bespin where soon after, The Rebel Leia was captured and Han Solo was frozen in carbonite. However because of the treason from Lando Calrissian the Falcon itself, and the rest of the crew, along with princess Leia, were able to escape.

As he feeled that there were no need for his tactical genius at the moment, Piett decided to take shoreleave on the Imperial homeworld of Coruscant. Captain Lackey was given command of the Executor and Piett was temporarily relieved of his command.

During this time, Piett was approached by an agent of the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), an agency which has regrettybly shown a great deal of incompetence, and was taken to an undisclosed Imperial Advisor. Though not directly in the chain of command, he was offered a position in the Unknown Regions as an Imperial Governor, and given the unofficial title of Grand Moff. Piett agreed, received his orders, and set out to follow them...to seek out and meet with one of the Emperor's Grand Admirals already in the region. Oddly enough, a name was not given.

Through his contacts, Piett was able to learn that his position wasn't exactly official, for his name was never listed in the command structure in the Coruscant Main Frame. And even more oddly was that there was no such listing for a Grand Admiral stationed in the Unknown Regions. Becoming suspicious, Piett dug further to find the truth. Two days later he found it. He had been a lowly pawn in a highly classified ISB operation that had one intent... to learn who the mysterious Grand Admiral stationed in that region was. (Another proof as to the incompetence of ISB. Not only did they think they could fool the Admiral, but they were unable to find a pice of information that only took us a few hours. The mysterious Admiral was Grand Admiral Thrawn). The Emperor, learning of the ISB's traitorous activity, immediately had all the agents involved with the ordeal "disposed of". The very idea of the ISB being involved in such activity deemed an immediate official inquiry and Piett himself was offered to lead it. However he declined, wanting to return back to the Executor. The scandal prooved for the need of a more effective service.

He stayed on Coruscant awhile longer after the incident and returned to the Executor shortly after the death of Prince Xizor.

Bak on the Executor, Piett releaved Captain Lackey and took over the command of The Executor again. Along with most of the Imperial fleet, he was ordered to the moon of Endor, to prepare a reception for the impending Rebel attack. Hiding the fleet behind the moon, to keep the element of surprise, Piett waited for further orders. When the Rebels attacked he sneaked in behind them and prevented them from escaping. He had been given strict orders not to attack the Rebels but only keep them from escaping. These orders would be the downfall of the Emperor. It is unknown exactly what happened but apparently a Rebel A-Wing crashed in to the Executor bridge. Piett managed to escape in to a pod just before the ship crashed in to the Death Star.

After the disaster at Endor in which the Empire had suffered an unaccountable loss Piett started gathering loyal troops, to reform the Empire and crown himself as the new Emperor.

This report has revealed episodes that were previously unknown. However as mentioned none of it is made up. It is Simply gathered information from around the galaxy. The tactical genius of our leader should be clear to all who read this report.
