FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM FOR EVERYONE
(Sung to Stairway To Heaven)
Written and submitted by Jeff Rawlings

(Anyone who doesn't know who sang "Stairway to Heaven" deserves the same fate as Admiral Ozzel =) )

Preface: As Star Wars, the original trilogy, is about Luke Skywalker and Vader, and Vader's redemption, suppose Piett had a son that tried to "save" him... and this is song is from his "certain point of view" =)

These Rebels I'm told are so brave and bold
And they're fighting for freedom for everyone
Their numbers are small, yet more answer the call
Against all the odds they will fight on

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And they're fighting for freedom for everyone

To the planet Tatooine, Death Star plans they did bring
With two droids left what Vader had came for
On a desert sea, lives a Jedi to be
A herald of Imperial destruction

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And they're fighting for freedom for everyone

A princess did sing, "they're on Dantooine"
And she watched as her planet was shattered
This deed it was clear, was meant to cause fear
Yet it simply sent more to Rebellion

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And they're fighting for freedom for everyone

There is a feeling I get when I watch Admiral Piett
Of a noble soul blinded by duty
His intent for good is clear, but he's blinded I fear
To the oppression that's caused by the Empire

And it makes me wonder

If there's a chance for his salvation
Would he take it
Or is it just a hopeful dream

Yes there are two paths he can go by
But in the long run
They're still a time to change the road he's on

His head is humming and it won't go cause he don't know
And Vader's calling Piett to join him
Oh father can't you hear the wind blow and did you know
Your pathway lies on the whispering wind

And as you walk your darkened road
The Dark Side shadows your own soul
Your troops are fighting rebels below
There's still a chance for you to show
Good still exists in you I know
And if you listen really hard
The light will come to you at last
Palpatine's oppression no longer cast
Rebellion is a just cause you'll know
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And they're fighting for freedom for everyone

These Rebels I'm told are so brave and bold
And they're fighting for freedom for everyone
Their numbers are small, yet more answer the call
Against all the odds they will fight on

And they're fighting for freedom for everyone
