Admiral Piett used to be a storm trooper commander at time of the construction of the first Death Star. When the data tape conflict took place at Tatooine, he was assigned to patrol in Mos Eisley as one of the best storm troopers of the Empire.

As Obi-wan Kenobi and Luke entered Mos Eisley in their landspeeder, they got stopped by the storm troopers led by Commander Piett (wearing the cool white storm trooper mask).

PIETT: How long have you had those droids?

LUKE: 'bout three or four seasons.

KENOBI: They are up for sale if you want them.

PIETT: Let me see your identifications!

KENOBI (WAVING HIS HAND SORCEROUSLY): You don't need to see his identifications.

PIETT: Oh, yes I do...
