REBELLION STRATEGY
Submitted by Andrew O'Brien

Here are some tips for Rebellion that I think would help everyone.

For both sides always keep everyone moving. Have every character and SpecForce team doing something. The more they move around the less likely they are to be abducted or sabotaged respectively. In the beginning, the Rebels should build lots and lots of Corvettes and then Escort Carriers and then fighters to put in those Carriers. The same goes for the Imps except build Carracks instead of Corvettes. Lancer frigates rule space. They can take care of those pesky Rebel fighters while your TIEs just get gobbled up. The Rebel Fleet should avoid contact with the Imperial Navy in the beginning of the game because a Star Destroyer with a full complement of fighters will decimate the little fleet of Corvettes you have. Do not be too proud or cocky to run away. Rather, send out lots of espionage missions and when you see some Star Destoyers around an Imp planet, SABOTAGE IT! This will seriously hurt the Imps because a Star Destroyer takes 250+ days to complete. I would not build Star Destoyers unless I had a large group of Advanced Shipyards that could churn them out in 50 days each.

Imps, take advantage of the ability to assassinate characters. If you catch sight of a Rebel character just sitting around, kill him off! This is especially lethal when it is a character who can perform research missions. Han is good at espionage but have him recruiting. Send Mon Mothma on Diplomacy missions but on planets to the Outer Rim if possible. Send Luke on Diplomacy missions to sectors with few Imperial planets in it. Keep the Emperor recruiting on Coruscant because that increase in Leadership he gives out helps dramatically. Do not build Death Stars. Period. If you get pissed off when they sabotaged one of your Victory-Star Destroyers, you will be wetting your pants and crying when they sabotage your Death Star. Use Vader on Diplomacy and if you find Luke, send Vader to that planet because Luke is generally weaker than Vader. SABOTAGE, SABOTAGE, SABOTAGE! I cannot stress it enough. Go for pretty much anything except mines and refineries.

In conclusion, the Rebels may seem to have an advantage over the Empire in terms of diplomats but the Imps have great ships. In addition to that, the omnipotent, omnicent, all powerful, godlike Admiral Piett is on the Imperial's side. If you put him in charge of your biggest fleet, the Rebels will surely fold the moment they catch sight of him. Such is the power of the eternal Admiral Piett...

Thanks for listening. Lieutenent (hopefully soon to be Lieutenant Commander!) O'Brien, signing off.
